We sit down with Kent Mosbech, our CEO, to hear about the community behind the DRIVESHARE platform. Here’s what he had to say about why it's important, and how we’re growing connections among classic car lovers worldwide.

Why is building a community around DRIVESHARE so important?

Building a community is essential because it transforms the DRIVESHARE experience from an online transaction into something much more meaningful. When people come together to share their passion for classic cars, it creates a real sense of belonging. That’s much more appealing than just renting a vehicle!

How does DRIVESHARE create a sense of community among classic car owners and enthusiasts?

We create a sense of community by offering various ways for our members to connect. Whether it's through enjoying each other's classic cars in real life, or sharing videos or photos on our social media channels, or coming to our in-person events, we make sure there are plenty of ways to share stories, experiences, and tips. Growing up in Denmark, I learned that community is not just about proximity but about shared values and mutual support, and I always keep this in mind.

What sort of stories from the DRIVESHARE community stand out for you?

I hear a lot of stories from our community about renting classic cars for weddings. The cars are a real talking point, and bring guests together, which is what DRIVESHARE is all about. But the stories that stand out most for me are probably the simpler ones, where a classic car has been the cherry on top of a weekend away, or a birthday celebration. I love that. We spend money on a meal out, or a hotel – I want a classic car to be the same, not a once in a lifetime event, more of a regular indulgence.

What future plans or events do you have in mind to bring the DRIVESHARE community together?

We have lots of exciting plans and events in the pipeline to bring our community together. From DRIVESHARE Experiences and our new Pro Owner Community, to larger events like car shows and rallies, we’re always looking for new ways to connect our members. Watch this space…

How do you see the DRIVESHARE community evolving in the next few years?

I see our community becoming even more connected. We plan to expand our reach globally, bringing more classic car enthusiasts together. As we grow, we’ll continue to innovate and introduce new features that improve the platform, so look out for those too.

Why are classic car enthusiasts and owners so naturally sociable?

Good question. I think classic car enthusiasts are naturally sociable because they share a genuine passion that transcends age, background, and geography. There's a unique bond that forms over a shared love for these beautiful machines and the stories behind them. I love watching classic car owners come together… sparks fly!

How will you make sure that the DRIVESHARE community remains inclusive and welcoming to new members?

We’re a diverse team so it comes naturally that we’re committed to maintaining an inclusive and welcoming community by actively encouraging a culture of respect and openness. We also regularly ask for feedback to understand the preferences of the community, and use it to make improvements to our platform and services.

How do you encourage owners to share their stories and experiences with the DRIVESHARE community?

We encourage owners to share their stories and experiences by giving them a choice of ways to do so. Whether it's through our blog, social media channels, or via email, we make it easy for members to share their passion, by telling us a story, sending photos or videos or just referring a friend via our Referral Program. Our door is always open!

How do you gather and incorporate feedback from the DRIVESHARE community?

We love creating surveys and we find both DRIVESHARE owners and renters are very responsive and enjoy them too. The feedback we get is invaluable and helps us create new features and make improvements. We want more than anything to meet the needs of our community and exceed their expectations.

What advice would you give to other businesses looking to build a strong and engaged community?

My advice to other businesses would be to genuinely listen to your community and make them feel valued. Build a culture of openness and inclusivity, and provide platforms for members to connect and share their experiences. Consistently engage, ask for feedback, and show that you’re committed to making continuous improvements. It takes time and effort, but it’s worth it!
