This week we're heading to Malvern, Herefordshire, UK where BookAclassic by DRIVESHARE owner Nicki Williams shares the story behind her trio of Morgans, Bertie, Beatrice and Brigitte, and why there's nowhere better to drive one than the roads where they're built.
Tell us about your cars
Bertie is a 2019 Morgan Plus 4 110th Anniversary edition, finished in deep blue with classic wire wheels and a wonderfully traditional Morgan feel. Beatrice is a beautiful silver Morgan Plus 4 with a stunning blue leather interior, elegant and timeless, and she always turns heads wherever she goes. Brigitte is our newest Morgan, a Plus Four CX generation with an automatic gearbox and upgraded suspension, combining Morgan's classic styling with modern engineering. She's incredibly smooth and easy to drive.
Why did you choose to register your cars on BookAclassic by DRIVESHARE?
It's a great platform for connecting classic car owners with people who genuinely appreciate these special vehicles. Morgan cars are quite unique, and many people have always dreamed of driving one but may never have had the opportunity. BookAclassic allows those enthusiasts to find and book authentic cars from passionate owners rather than large rental companies.
For us it's also a wonderful way to introduce visitors to the beautiful roads around Malvern, Herefordshire and the Welsh borders, which are perfect for enjoying a classic sports car. Many guests discover us through the platform and then enjoy a memorable day exploring the countryside in a Morgan. It's very rewarding to see how much joy these cars bring people, especially when it's their first time behind the wheel of one.
What are some of your most memorable experiences with the cars?
One of the most memorable experiences has been seeing how much joy the cars bring to people. Many guests hire a Morgan to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary or even a proposal, and it's always lovely hearing their stories afterwards. One young lady, on returning the car, told me her face ached because she hadn't stopped smiling all day.
We also enjoy taking the cars to local events and scenic drives around the Malvern Hills, the Wye Valley and the surrounding Herefordshire countryside. The reactions are wonderful: people smile, wave and often stop to talk about their own memories of Morgans. Another highlight was entering one of our Morgans into the Salon Privé concours, a fantastic celebration of classic and luxury cars.
Any local insights for renters?
Many guests specifically travel to the Malvern Hills and the surrounding countryside because they know it's the home of Morgan. Driving a Morgan on the roads where the cars have been built and tested for generations adds something extra to the experience.
Do you collect anything else car-related?
Yes, we enjoy collecting Morgan-related memorabilia such as brochures, books about the history of the marque, and items from classic car shows. One of our garages is decorated with these pieces, creating a space that reflects the heritage and timeless charm of Morgan motoring.
