We’re excited to introduce Justin Novakovich, a lifelong Porsche enthusiast from Newport Beach, CA, and one of our Pro Owners. His 1970 Porsche 911 in Hellgelb (Light Yellow) is more than just a car, it’s a mechanical experience, a piece of automotive history, and a connection to a passionate global community.
We caught up with Justin to hear more about his love for classic Porsches and the incredible journey he’s had with his long-hood 911.
What drew you to classic Porsches?
I’ve always been fascinated by early 1970s air-cooled Porsches: the distinctive sound of the engine, the timeless design, and the way they feel on the road. For me, the 1970 and 1971 911s, with their high-revving 2.2L engines, are the perfect combination of mechanical engagement and heritage.
Owning a vintage 911 means more than just driving, it’s about learning the car inside and out, restoring it, maintaining it, and becoming part of a much bigger community.

What makes your 1970 Porsche 911 special to you?
This car is an extension of my love for analog driving. The dog-leg gearbox forces you to be intentional with every shift, and the 2.2L engine delivers a raw, connected experience that modern cars just can’t replicate.
Beyond the way it drives, this 911 has been a part of some incredible experiences. It’s been featured at events like Luftgekühlt, where Porsche lovers from around the world come together to celebrate air-cooled models. It’s also a favorite among photographers and event organizers because of its vibrant Hellgelb color and classic design.
Can you share a memorable experience you’ve had with your 911?
Some of my favorite moments have been driving the Pacific Coast Highway or taking it through the winding roads of the Santa Ana Mountains. But one of the biggest highlights for this car is its upcoming appearance in the film Pretty Boys, starring Doug Jones and Matt Edwards. Seeing this car on the big screen is something really special.
